Management of Trail Running Races in National Parks
In recent years, as the use of mountainous areas has diversified, many trail running races have been held in national parks with rich nature. Trail running races, in which a large number of people compete for running time on narrow footpaths, can lead to inappropriate content, which in turn can lead to the lack of proper maintenance of the trails. This can impact the natural environment around the trails, and disturb the safe and comfortable use of the trails by general public other than those participating in the races.
Therefore, we will compile a list of the issues regarding the management of trail running races in national parks with the aim of preserving the natural environment in national parks and ensuring comfortable use of the parks by users.
The organizer will conduct monitoring before and after the race to investigate and report on the impact of the race on the trails.
